PlayHQ - what's happening?

Updated: Jul 10, 2023

You may have heard... in season 2023-2024 WA joins other states on the new PlayHQ system.

You may be familiar with the platform already, with sports including AFL, basketball and netball already using it.

Several of our club administrators are already using PlayHQ to set up registrations for the season... so we thought we would include some information to keep our KCC family informed.

What happens with MyCricket?

PlayHQ replaces MyCricket.

As with MyCricket - there is a public website where you will go for fixtures, ladders, results, stats etc. This will be supported by the PlayCricket app. The existing MyCricket app will be rebranded, so you want lose access to personal stats!

How do you register?

1. Create a Play HQ account

If you have used PlayHQ already for another sport, you may already have an account. In this case you can use the same account details and a new cricket profile will be set up and attached to your account. Your don't need to create a new account for each sport. Next time you register, your information will be saved!

If you are a parent / guardian, you need to use your own details and you will then register dependents under this account when completing your registration.

Under your profile in PlayHQ, you can easily jump between registered participants, sports and teams.

2. Create or know your CricketID

As part of the process you will be asked to create or know your CricketID.

This is NOT your MyCricket ID Profile number.

You may not even have a Cricket ID but you can check or create one at this stage. You will need to verify your email address.

Again - if you are a parent, register this under your own details.

3. Register

All junior players, senior players and officials will be required to register via play.cricket.com.au. From here you will be directed to the KCC registration form.

Keep an eye on our website and social media for links.

4. Claim your MyCricket Profile.

Once you have completed the registration you can also link your old MyCricket profile to your CricketID. You may have already completed this in the MyCricket app previously. This is optional and not required to complete your PlayHQ registration.

5. Login to your PlayHQ Profile

Login to your profile to update your details, check your registrations and manage dependents.

How does it work for Club volunteers - captains, coaches, managers and scorers?

There is a PlayHQ admin portal used for match day competition and team management. You wont have separate login information - your access will be assigned to your PlayHQ user email address.

Training for match day set up (selecting teams etc) and scoring will be run in August / September.

There have been mixed reviews from cricket clubs to date, however we are hopeful that, as we are part of the second wave of roll-outs (NSW, SA, ACT, Tas, QLD Regional all used it last year), many of the bugs will have been sorted through.

In the meantime, we will do our best to keep you up to date with the progress of the rollout for 2023-2024!
